The largest cruise ship is getting ready for its first trip

The cruise ship “Allure of the Seas”, which is considered to be the largest ship of its class in the world, is due for completion.

It is 5 meters longer than the previous largest cruise ship “Oasis of the Seas”. Both of these ships are owned by the U.S. cruise ship company “Royal Caribbean”.

On 5 December of this year, “Allure of the Seas” will embark on its first trip to the Caribbean Sea archipelago.

Based on its gauge, which is 9.3 meters, “Allure of the Seas” could still be able to come to the port of Klaipeda. However, the 362 meter long and 47 meter wide vessel would have no space for turning around. The maximum length of a vessel capable of being turned in Klaipeda port can be up to 310 meters. The longest ship to have ever come to the port of Klaipeda so far is the 294 meter long, 32.2 meter wide and 8.3 meter gauge ship “Constellation”. This cruise ship first visited the port of Klaipeda on 1 June 2005.
It cost 1.48 billion U.S. dollars for “Allure of the Seas” to build 18 decks. Of these, 16 decks, with a total area of 25 hectares, are designed for the passengers. This giant can accommodate up to 6,300 passengers. Its crew, including serving staff, has 2,165 employees.

The cruise ship is equipped with 2,700 cabins. The most luxurious is the suite “Royal Loft Suite”. Staying here during the seven-day cruise costs 11,296 U.S. dollars per person. This suite is popular. It had already been booked for all cruises up to 2012. The lowest “Allure of the Seas” trip price is 907 U.S. dollars per person.

The vessel’s uniqueness is that it is equipped with an open-air park with real, rather than plastic, trees, flowers and even grass. The park is equipped not only with walking trails or the Royal Promenade, but also the benches to sit and restaurants with open terraces. It is also the first cruise ship to be equipped with a carousel park for tourists.

”Allure of the Seas” has climbing, swimming and surfing simulators installed. It has an ice arena, a 1,380-seat theater hall, several casinos, water pools, Aqua Park, night and jazz clubs and an aqua theatre - a place for water acrobats’ and synchronized swimming masters’ appearances.
